Our story
It all started with a move from Seattle, Washington to Berry Ky.
Joe and I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of urban living and find our heart space. Berry Ky checked every box we had. The idea was to “semi-retire” but we gave that up after the first year when we realized how bored we were. Our first online store, RealBOKS, was born.
RealBOKS caters to realtor by simplifying the closing gift process. We source exclusive gifts and create customized closing gift boxes, taking the stress off busy realtors and completing the transaction with a gift clients will enjoy and long remember.
As RealBOKS took off, we started getting phone calls from customers wanting to purchase our products individually. Our handcrafted works, including our barrel heads and bottle stoppers were in high demand. As a solution, we opened our second online store, OnFireCraft.com. We offer our handcrafted products off our website as well as Etsy. The past year showed us the demand for our work which thrilled us to know end.
By the beginning of the 2023 summer, we had our production processes streamlined and our online stores practically ran themselves. We decided that we wanted more of a design challenge so we opened, Dirty Laundry Clothing Company.
Just after the Dirty Laundry launch, an opportunity to good to pass up presented itself to combine all our online stores into a brick and mortar location. In the middle of October 2023, GiftWorks opened on E Pike St. in downtown Cynthiana KY.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with Cynthiana…it is the home of the creators of “The Walking Dead” comics, Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore. It has a rich and varied history full of ghost stories and intrigue. The revival of downtown is well underway with new stores and restaurants popping up all the time. Being in the heart of bourbon country, it is the perfect place to share our handcrafted works which include fun and innovative bourbon barrel creations.

Having a partner-in-crime is always a thrilling experience, and for me, that's none other than the talented Jeanette. As a woman with numerous secret talents, she's my right-hand gal. While raising two energetic and adorable kids, she yearned for a creative outlet, which eventually led her to become the brilliant mind behind Handcraftee'd. Through her products, she aspires to offer a unique and personalized experience to all her customers. Lexie Bowlin
Although Lexie may not be a regular fixture in our store, her contribution to our success is essential. She radiates positivity and is ever-ready to lend a hand. With her keen attention to detail and determined spirit, she complements our team perfectly. Typically, you can catch Lexie running the show on Sundays or during the afternoons throughout the academic year. As summer approaches, we are secretly hoping to lure her away from Stepping Stone and have her around more often. But let's keep that between us, shall we?
